Recap: SKALE at BuildETH 2023

SKALE Network

The recently concluded BuildETH event brought together blockchain developers, entrepreneurs, and professionals for a showcase of innovation in blockchain technology. As a leading blockchain network, SKALE has fostered a vibrant community of builders, and BuildETH served as an opportunity to celebrate their accomplishments while also providing them a platform for showcasing SKALE’s amazing features.

About BuildETH

BuildETH was an exciting one-day gathering that caters to individuals focused on constructing, designing, expanding, and securing decentralized applications and protocols. This event places a strong emphasis on the real-world applications of cutting-edge Web3 technologies. Distinguished speakers and sponsors offered insights on harnessing the full potential of the EVM infrastructure stack. Through captivating presentations, engaging workshops, and expert-led sessions, participants will have the chance to gain knowledge on a wide spectrum of topics ranging from fundamental aspects of Web3 development to intricate architectures and practical implementations.

Exploring Shared Security Models

As part of SKALE’s involvement in BuildETH, SKALE CEO and Co-founder Jack O’Holleran gave an educational presentation on the topic of shared security models. In this presentation, Jack spoke about what shared security is, the consensus mechanism that drives it, and why modular architecture is so important in scaling.

SKALE CEO & Co-Founder Jack O'Holleran Presenting About Shared Security Models

SKALE is one of the few blockchains that is using shared security in real-world applications. SKALE is a multichain network made of many chains that share security. SKALE Chains don't share performance but share security across validator sets. ‍Validators are randomly assigned and rotated across numerous chains. This pools security and creates collusion resistance.

Additionally, SKALE was intentionally built with modularity at its core, resulting in unlimited capacity. Capacity grows as new nodes join the network. Unlike monolithic L1s, new nodes can be utilized to create new chains which increases throughput and computational power across the network.

Fast, Free, and Flexible On-Chain Gaming with SKALE

In addition to Jack's main stage panel, SKALE software engineer Sawyer Cutler presented a workshop focused on SKALE’s gaming features and capabilities. Sawyer demonstrated how easy it is to integrate blockchain into a game utilizing SKALE. He displayed a demo of a game side-by-side with the block explorer, which showcased how quickly in-game transactions register on a SKALE chain. The full demo video of this will be coming soon on SKALE’s YouTube channel.

SKALE’s modular multi-chain architecture allows for gaming-specific chains that are fast, efficient, and infinitely scalable. Best of all, onboarding gamers to SKALE is easy, gas fees are FREE (don't need to hold SKL) and SKALE is compatible with most EVM wallets.

In closing, the BuildETH showcased the immense potential of blockchain technology and its real-world applications. The presentations by SKALE CEO and Co-founder Jack O'Holleran on shared security models and software engineer Sawyer Cutler on gaming features demonstrated the scalability, flexibility, and efficiency offered by SKALE's modular multi-chain architecture. As we move towards a decentralized future, SKALE continues to push boundaries, empowering developers and paving the way for a new era of fast, secure, and user-friendly blockchain solutions.

About SKALE

SKALE is an Ethereum native, modular blockchain network composed of high-throughput, low-latency blockchains that are optimized for Web3 user experience. SKALE chains offer zero gas fees to end-users and have advanced features such as on-chain file storage, interchain messaging, zero-cost minting, ML/AI smart contracts, and enhanced security features.

The SKALE network enables developers to deploy their own EVM blockchain in minutes without sacrificing speed, security, or decentralization. Welcome to the SKALEverse.
