Introducing The SKALE Data Center Powered by Dune Analytics

SKALE Network

The SKALE developer community just released an upgraded Dune dashboard, providing increased data availability from SKALE operations on Ethereum Mainnet

Dune is renowned within the community as a highly trusted hub for displaying analytics and conducting research. Dune serves as an incredibly flexible web3 analytics tool and source of truth, aligning with the SKALE Network approach to unveil the formerly hidden web3 landscape by showcasing previously web2-exclusive data on the Dune platform.

The primary objective of this update is to offer comprehensive insights into SKALE Network. It aims to cover 100% of the data previously found on SKALE's analytics page, including details about delegations, delegators, and validators. In addition to this, it goes beyond the basics to provide analytics about other network components. These include details about each node in the network, every SKALE chain created, and all distributed key generation (DKG) rotations performed. The new analytics on Dune now open up a broader window into the SKALE ecosystem, enabling both web2 and web3 audiences to gain a clear understanding of SKALE's mission.

The SKALE Network operates and is managed through smart contracts on the Ethereum blockchain, ensuring that all information remains transparent and verifiable through Dune. Dig into the details of each page in the dashboard below.

The Key Pages of The SKALE Data Center on Dune

Main Dashboard

This page encompasses general statistics of the network, including metrics like total staked, total value locked (TVL), and the number of existing validators. It features tables and dashboards that provide insights into the core components of the ecosystem. These include the sum of all monthly delegations made, details of each validator and their network coverage, a record of all delegations to date, and a comprehensive list of existing nodes with corresponding details. These charts and data show the true decentralized nature of the SKALE ecosystem.

Validators Dashboard

The validators page is a treasure trove of information, offering detailed insights into each validator's identity and staking conditions. It also includes several tables that provide in-depth information on delegations, the rewards associated with those delegations, and the nodes linked to each validator. This information can be invaluable for delegators when choosing the right validator to delegate their tokens.

Delegators Dashboard

For each delegator wallet address, this page provides a wealth of information, including the number of delegations made and a record of all delegations made, along with rewards collected from each validator they have delegated to.

Schains Stats

This page reveals the number of SKALE chains currently operational on the network and also offers data related to distributed key generations (DKG) performed for each chain. DKG is a crucial process in which each node in the chain receives their private key share to participate in the consensus mechanism and sign blocks. This information enhances our understanding of the network's security and operation.

Node Page

For each node ID, the Node page offers insights into the node's details, the validator it is linked to, and the SKALE chains it is currently operating on. Additionally, it provides information on the bounties generated by that node, shedding light on the economic activity within the ecosystem.

Individual Schain Analytics

This section is dedicated to each specific SKALE chain. By selecting a particular chain, the dashboard returns essential details such as its lifetime, creation time, and the number of DKG rounds performed. Detailed tables show which 16 nodes are currently running the chain, along with the chain node history, including current running nodes and those that have been rotated.

This significant update to the SKALE analytics on Dune expands the boundaries of what we can know and understand about the SKALE Network. It empowers users with a comprehensive set of tools to explore the ecosystem, from validators to delegators and everything in between. As SKALE continues its mission to make blockchain more accessible, this enhanced analytics platform plays a pivotal role in making the invisible visible and the complex comprehensible. Stay tuned as we embark on this exciting journey through the SKALE ecosystem, driven by transparency and data-driven insights.
