SKALE Network Boosts Performance in Latest Q2 Engineering Updates

SKALE Network

Welcome to SKALE's quarterly engineering recap, where we dive into the exciting developments, innovations, and technical achievements of SKALE tech. As a leading blockchain scalability platform, SKALE is committed to pushing the boundaries of what's possible in the world of decentralized applications.

In this recap, we'll highlight the remarkable work of the SKALE developer community and validators and share insight into the progress of SKALE’s architecture.

SKALE Q2 Engineering Updates

1) Release of Metaport Bridge

The Metaport bridge was built to support the unique SKALE multi-chain architecture which includes App-Specific Chains and 3 Community Hubs: Europa for Liquidity, Nebula for Gaming, and Calypso for NFTs. A bridge was needed so users can easily navigate the advanced Multi-chain ecosystem and provide a way to securely direct tokens to where they want to use them. Free token transfers via Metaport are made possible by SKALE's zero-gas fee architecture.

In addition to the release of Metaport, it has already undergone upgrade 1.2.0! This upgrade includes several bug fixes and minor enhancements, as well as additional token support.

2) Improved Distribution of SKALE Contracts

The SKALE developer community is constantly making updates to SKALE smart contracts. Last quarter, the SKALE developer community made optimizations to SKALE smart contracts. Simplified distribution of SKALE address and APIs allows devs to quickly dive into SKALE contracts, and make the integration process more seamless.

3) Release V2.2 Progress

The SKALE 2.2 update is approaching in the near future, and the team has already made strides in improving SKALE chain performance.

Updates include:

  • Optimizations to the IMA bridge to make transactions process even faster
  • Improved operations with state in SKALE chains
  • Increased stability of SKALE chain performance under high load
  • Improved node rotation mechanism
  • Re-Enabling self-destruct functionality in SKALE chains for smart contracts
  • Return transaction signature in receipts to be compatible with Ethereum JSON RPC API

4) DappRadar Integration

Due to SKALE’s multi-chain nature, the DappRadar integration was no easy task! SKALE is the first multi-chain network to be integrated with DappRadar, so this task involved creating an integration solution for each individual SKALE Chain. This was achieved working alongside Covalent for data providing and resulted in 6 out of 20 SKALE Chains indexed on the platform thus far, with more to come!

At SKALE, we remain committed to driving innovation and solving the scalability limitations of blockchain technology. With each passing day, the SKALE developer community and validators continues to push the boundaries, striving to empower developers and users with a faster, more efficient, and highly scalable blockchain infrastructure. Stay tuned for more exciting updates and breakthroughs in the near future!
