SKALE X Crypto Colosseum

Blockchain gaming is experiencing phenomenal growth. The industry grew 2,000% in the past year, according to a DappRadar and Blockchain Game Alliance report from Q1 2022. Gaming has proven to be a strong area of growth for SKALE, including the most recent announcements of Block Brawlers and Snook. That’s one reason why we are thrilled to announce that Crypto Colosseum: Larva Maiorum is launching June 2022 on SKALE.

Larva Maiorum is a play2earn battle strategy game with deep social and real time gameplay. It offers an immersive world in an alternative Rome (Crypto Rome) and 3D battles with real time audience influence (the crowd actually changes the outcome of battles). Players can choose casual gameplay by sending their NFTs to search for coins/treasures or get deep into the game, equipping gladiators, building items, and eventually even owning their own Colosseum.

Crypto Colosseum: Larva Maiorum is the newest chapter of Crypto Colosseum, which utilizes the learnings of over a year running Crypto Colosseum: Classic. The team experienced a few pain points: getting users on the network to play required costly ethereum mainnet transactions, gas fluctuates heavily and is influenced by projects outside of their control, with reorgs of the chain being commonplace. SKALE allows them to have isolated network usage (giving users a consistent experience), gasless transactions, and block finality. Additionally, the NFT marketplaces on their existing chain had several serious issues early on and SKALE gives Crypto Colosseum’s community a chance to be part of a fresh ecosystem with new partners and loads of fun.

Crypto Colosseum: Classic has always been a top 50 game since launch and is often in the top 10. It enjoys a highly passionate community of players and features fully on-chain gameplay, as well as unique 1 of 1 art. Its NFT gladiators often sell in the $1k USD range. Plus, it’s also just fun.

Crypto Colosseum: Larva Maiorum will release its genesis mask collection in June 2022 (right after the Calypso and Europa DEXes and markets go live).
