SKALE Chains are Live!

SKALE chains are now live on Mainnet following the Denali upgrade

The Denali Upgrade brought forth network capabilities required to deploy the latest and greatest SKALE Chain technology. We will very soon start seeing decentralized applications deploy to SKALE Chains.

It's been incredible to watch the SKALE community as it's made a lot of progress over the last 3 years. We’ve seen numerous launch milestones and upgrades. However, seeing a live SKALE chain on the mainnet is a pinnacle moment. This brought together the work of so many people, in particular the SKALE validator community, core team, and open source contributors.

Be on the lookout in the near future for a pretty nifty game (pun intended) that will go live on the SKALE Mainnet. The first dApp on the mainnet is designed to show off many of the strengths of the SKALE Network such as fast blocktimes, feeless transactions, SKALE storage capabilities, wallet connectivity, Ethereum ecosystem interoperability, and a phenomenal user experience.

This launch also has historical significance. To our knowledge, it is the first blockchain ever created by another blockchain. The SKALE Network is Ethereum Native, which means certain critical network functions live on Ethereum. One of those functions is SKALE Chain creation. What this means is that the Ethereum Network actually created a blockchain on the SKALE Network. We’ll be releasing another post tomorrow detailing this milestone and functionality.

Congrats once again to the SKALE Community. In particular a huge shout out goes to the validator operators who run nodes in the SKALE Network. This upgrade would not have been possible without their tireless work in testing, upgrading, and maintaining the network. You can read the full list of validator operators and stake SKL tokens to them via the ConsenSys Activate website.
